Kusto is a new platform for working with Big Data. Several years ago, it conquered all of Microsoft and now all Azure services uses Kusto for data analysis.
This talk is a story about the principles of building a new database from scratch for working with logs and telemetry. We will touch on the specifics of requests for structured and unstructured data, the approach and technique of scaling, request optimization, and the optimal use of basic Azure services to implement a non-trivial cloud service.
